WELS Association of Lutheran High Schools conference presentation

On Feb. 29, 2024, WELS Foundation sponsored the Mission Advancement sectionals at the WELS Association of Lutheran High Schools conference at the Sheraton, Brookfield, Wis. We welcomed Jordan Richardson, AIF®, CAP®, Strategic Growth Advisor for Ren, as our keynote speaker.

Please see the resources section below to access the handouts and PowerPoints from the presentations.

  • Bible study on Christian stewardship: Rev. Paul Prange, WELS administrator for ministerial education, led us in a discussion of biblical stewardship based on 1 Timothy 6:17-19.
  • Session 1: Your Charitable Toolbox: Jordan Richardson from Ren compared and contrasted donor-advised funds (DAFs), charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), and charitable gift annuities (CGAs) and provided practical conversation starters and usages for each charitable tool. Knowing how to use your charitable toolbox can bring immediate value to your next donor conversation.
  • Session 2: Case Studies with DAFs, CRTs, and CGAs: Jordan Richardson helped us consider a few donor scenarios and find solutions with DAFs, CRTs, and CGAs that deliver a positive result for the charity while also moving the donor toward accomplishing their financial, tax, and estate planning goals.

Annual Report

WELS Foundation is the foundation of choice for WELS members and ministries. It is the only foundation whose sole purpose is to facilitate donors’ desires to support WELS ministries.

After the Israelites crossed the River Jordan to enter the Promised Land, they set up a stone memorial so that future generations would know the goodness of God (Joshua 4:4-9). In the same way, WELS Foundation exists to help members whose gifts leave a monument of their faith that will be a blessing for many years to come.

By establishing a planned gift, you are creating a lasting legacy by providing financial resources dedicated to the support of teaching and preaching God’s Word to future generations. As you contemplate the transition from the wilderness of life on earth to the Promised Land of heaven, what will be your memorial stone?
